Samuel Morris Hall is home to over 300 students. One of the two all-male residence halls on Taylor’s campus, Samuel Morris follows a traditional residence hall layout with community bathrooms and centrally located lounges on each floor, in addition to a main lobby, kitchen, and outdoor pergola. The hall includes air conditioning, an elevator, and laundry facilities located on the lower level.
Affectionately known as "Sammy," each floor has its own nickname and traditions. Students living on Foundation, Sammy II, The Brotherhood, and Penthouse pass down a variety events that carry on year after year. You will often hear Sammy residents recite the mantra, “There is always room for one more.”
Some hall and floor activities include Dude Week, Kaboo Week (a week-long celebration of the legacy of Samuel Morris), the Foundation 5K (where first-floor residents run a 5K along the corridor of their hall), Penthouse's IHOP Open House, Sammy II’s Restaurant Open House, Frolf (frisbee golf), and more.
Check out what it's like to live in Samuel Morris Hall, one of the primary residence halls for men. Each floor has its own identity, community, and traditions.
