Wengatz Hall

One of two all-male residence halls on Taylor’s campus, Wengatz Hall is home to just over 250 students and follows a traditional residence hall layout with community bathrooms and rooms lining both sides of a T-shaped corridor. Its three floors are divided into eight wings, and its first floor is split by a joint kitchen and main lobby, where residents can be found playing ping pong, foosball, and piano. Additionally, a communal laundry facility is located on the east wing of the first floor.

Wengatz Hall has a tradition of themed pick-a-dates and Open Houses, like 3rd East’s Future Great Dads of America and 1st West’s Zoo. Other hall and wing activities include Wengatz Week (a week-long celebration of the Wengatz with scavenger hunts, a film festival, and more); Melon and Gourd (3rd West’s week-long, high-stakes game of tag); Wengatz Olympics (a day of events ranging from trivia to dodgeball); and Tolf (golf with tennis balls around campus), just to name a few.

Take a Tour of Wengatz Hall

Check out what it would be like to live in Wengatz Hall, one of the main residence halls for me. This traditional corridor-style residence Hall is split into three floors, with each wing having its own identity, traditions, and community.

Special Open Houses

Residence Halls are open for visitors on set hours each week, but many halls or wings also put on special themed open houses. Third East Wengatz throws its creative Future Great Dads of America open House every year.
