Gerig Hall

Gerig is a four-story co-ed hall for about 100 students and adjoins with Breuninger Hall. The first floor features a lounge, kitchen, and homey lobby area. Residents of Gerig share community bathrooms on each floor, with women housed on the second and third floors, and men housed on the fourth floor. Gerig’s small, close-knit community is enhanced by the hall’s open suite layout, with five living areas on each floor that are surrounded by three or four rooms each.

Because of Gerig’s family-style atmosphere, regular lobby hangouts are common. Gerig students express an appreciation for doing everyday life together. In addition to this, Gerig offers several hall traditions, including Java House (an open mic night that sees residents come together to perform various talents), Gerig’s Labor Day Slip 'N Slide (a yearly kick-off event), “Loud Minute” (a minute of noise right before the beginning of each semester’s mandatory quiet hours heading into finals week), and Greuvy Thanksgiving (a night where residents from Breu and Gerig come together with dishes to share).
