Olson Hall is home to 300 women, making it Taylor’s largest women’s hall. It was first called East Hall but renamed Olson Hall in 1974. The hall follows a traditional residence hall layout with rooms lining both sides of a T-shaped corridor. Each of its three floors is divided into wings.
Olson is home to a wide range of women who enjoy spending time together in the hall and in the classroom. Residents can go on pick-a-dates with their wings, including traditional events such as roller skating, visiting fall festivals, outdoor movies, Murder Mystery parties, and relay races. On nice days, you can find students scattered on Olson’s front lawn, known as “Olson Beach.” During the colder winter months, you can find students in Olson connecting over warm cups of coffee or tea.
Throughout the year, Olson hosts a variety of hall-wide programs including pancake breakfasts with educational speakers from our community, a dodgeball tournament, decorating the hall for a Christmas open house, and the much-anticipated Grace Olson Pageant in honor of the hall’s namesake.

Curious what Christmastime looks like at Taylor? One of the ways we celebrate is through super-fun themed Open Houses in residence halls! The ladies of Olson Hall planned activities, themes, and snacks for all to enjoy during this past year's Christmas Open House.
