Hollywood Internship Program

Exceptional students with a passion for working and serving in the entertainment industry may apply to Taylor University’s Semester in Hollywood, open to Film & Media Arts majors. Those accepted spend one semester of their junior or senior year in Hollywood, learning what it means to thrive as a Christian in the entertainment industry.

Academic Emphasis

Compatible majors: Film & Media Arts

For BA track:

  • Internship: 13 credits, FMP 393 practicum, counts as
    “choose 9 hours” for major
  • Inside the Entertainment Industry: 3 Credits, counts as “choose 9 hours” for major

For BS track:

  • Internship: 16 credits, replaces MKT, ENT, COS, and FMP 393 practicum
  • Inside the Entertainment Industry: Can count as “choose 9 hours” for major

What to Expect

Students earn up to 16 credit hours, complete one or two internships in their area of interest, and take the Inside the Entertainment Industry course taught by entertainment industry professionals. The program also includes studio tours, special events, film screenings, and networking.

Course Outline

  • Internship: 1 internship 4 days a week, OR 2 interships for 2 days a week
  • Class: Inside the Entertainment Industry, Thursday 6-9 (weekly) and Thursday 3:30 (every 3 weeks)
  • Coordinators Mentor Meeting: Every Sunday, meet with your course mentor
  • Events: film screenings, meals with industry people, museum visits, studio tours, etc.
    12 required for course

Students live in Pasadena at Providence Christian College;  2-3 students share a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment.
