Taylor partners with Students International to create a unique opportunity for students to deepen their Spanish-speaking skills and gain ministry experience in Costa Rica.

  • Take ministry, cultural development, and Spanish courses while serving at a mission site.
  • Go on frequent trips to engage with the local culture.

Academic Emphasis

Compatible majors: Christian Ministry, Orphaned and Vulnerable Children, Social Work, Management. All majors are welcome! This program is practicum-focused.

ALL classes are taught in Spanish.

  • Missions and Theology in a Latin American Context (3)
  • Peoples and Cultures of Costa Rica (3)
  • Advanced Spanish grammar and Communications (3)
  • Internship and Practicum Possibilities in Costa Rica (3)

Other Courses:

  • Literature and Culture of Spanish America (requires advanced Spanish)
  • One online Taylor class if necessary

What to Expect

You'll how to serve in-need communities, then you'll take a week-long trip to Nicaragua and put what you've learned into practice. Other excursions include frequent trips to beaches, national parks, and more.

For housing, you'll live with a local host family who provides room and board.
