The opportunity to be disconnected from technology and many modern conveniences while learning how to tend to the very plants and animals that would sustain us for the month forced a beautiful simplicity that I often long for now. I learned valuable skills at HEART that have benefitted my career post-grad and have been useful in my everyday life.
