Explore Ancient and Modern Egypt

Sponsored by the History, Global & Political Studies Department, the Egypt J-Term experience takes students to Cairo and Luxor to explore the culture of ancient and modern Egypt through an interdisciplinary approach that covers:

  • history
  • religion
  • politics
  • architecture
  • art
  • language

  • gender relations

By approaching ancient Egypt in this way, students will be challenged to better understand the multifaceted aspects of culture and how different components impact and shape each other.

Learning was engaging and interactive as we explored sites where history took place. From climbing the pyramids and riding camels to touring museums, exploring ancient tombs, and experiencing a different culture, it taught me so much while being incredibly fun.
