Explore Your Calling

Academic Advising at Taylor is the collaboration between students and faculty members in designing their Taylor experience in preparation for graduation and the pursuit of God’s call.

Academic advisors offer one-on-one support in course selection, choice of major, college transition issues, careers or graduate study, and referral to other support services.

If you are entering college as Undeclared, or if you find yourself needing guidance at any time, the Office of Academic Advising is here to help.

Advising Pathway

The goal of college is not to determine what you’re going to do for the rest of your life, but to determine what you’re going to try first. Here's an idea of the advising pathway you'll take at Taylor.

  • Freshman

    Theme: Discover

Ask: "Who am I and where am I headed?"

Milestone: Confirm major and academic plan

  • Sophomore

    Theme: Explore

Ask: "What experiences will shape me?"

Milestone: Complete a high-impact experience (study abroad, research, leadership, service, etc.)

  • Junior

    Theme: Test

Ask: "How do I apply what I'm learning?"

Milestone: Internship, practicum, undergraduate research, or professional experience

  • Senior

    Theme: Launch

    Ask: "What's my next step?"

Milestone: Graduate school application, job offer, or post-graduation plan
