Taylor University welcomed more than 2,500 guests to campus for Homecoming and Family Weekend, a time filled with celebration, connection, and fun!

Weekend highlights included reunion dinners, Shop the Loop with student-run booths, the cardboard boat regatta at Taylor Lake, and much, much more. On Saturday night, LIFEGATE Denver Church led an outdoor worship concert culminating with the relighting of the Rice Bell Tower—a longstanding symbol of Taylor’s commitment to the integration of faith and learning.

“Homecoming is always a joyful reminder of the lifelong community our graduates share. It’s inspiring to see alumni and parents return to campus, reconnect with one another, and invest in the next generation of students who will carry forward our mission,” shared President Michael Lindsay.

The University celebrated ribbon cuttings for two construction projects. The Randall Center, home to Taylor’s new Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program and Environmental Sciences, has been fully renovated from top to bottom with state-of-the-art labs and equipment. In addition, new Residential Village units were dedicated, honoring past Board of Trustees Chairs Don Jacobsen ’53 and Ted Brolund.

The highlight of the weekend was the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Chapel and Welcome Center.

For nearly two centuries, Chapel has been the heartbeat of our campus. Today, Taylor’s growing enrollment means that one-third of the student body lacks a seat, and this challenge moved the Board of Trustees to action. The groundbreaking ceremony publicly launched a $68 million campaign to pay for the building project. To date, Taylor has secured $41 of the $68 million needed to fund the expansion.

“We are grateful for the early support of this project in gifts and pledges," said Mike Falder ’94, Vice President for University Advancement. “Now, we invite the whole Taylor family and others to join us in this once in a generation project with prayer, advocacy, and financial giving.”

Friday’s Chapel and ground-breaking was held on the future site of the new Chapel and Welcome Center.

“The service was a sacred moment,” said Brad Yordy ’05, Senior Executive Director for Advancement. “As we broke ground, there was great expectation for the ways the Lord will use the new chapel to transform the lives of future generations.”

Homecoming & Family Weekend 2025 will be remembered not only for its joyful reunions and celebrations, but also as the beginning of a new chapter in Taylor’s history—one that will strengthen the heartbeat of the University for generations to come.
