Summer online classes are a great way to stay ahead, catch up, or explore new interests—all while balancing your summer plans. Whether completing Foundational Core credits or diving into a subject you’re passionate about, you’ll get the benefits of flexibility and supportive professors. 

Tuition & Financial Aid

Tuition for Summer Online is $400/credit hour.

Residential students can register for Summer Online via the same process they would if they were registering for a summer on-campus course. 

Registration Tower Course Schedule

Course Load

Summer Online follows the traditional Summer term policy:

May-June Summer Term (18 days)

  • May 26 to June 19 
  • Normal load: 3-4 credit hours
  • Maximum load: 5 credit hours (requires a minimum 3.00 GPA and Registrar authorization)

June-July Summer Term (24 days)

  • June 22 to July 24
  • Normal load: 3-6 credit hours
  • 7 credit hours requires a minimum 3.00 GPA and Registrar authorization
  • Maximum load: 8 credit hours (requires a minimum 3.60 GPA and Registrar authorization)

Summer Term Maximums

  • Full Summer Term: May 26 to August 14
  • Total maximum across all Summer terms: 12 credit hours
  • Includes transfer credit, TU Online, and correspondence courses
  • Full-time enrollment for Summer: 12 credit hours of Taylor courses
Experiential education (e.g., practicum; internship; field and travel studies) and directed research courses are only offered during the 12-week full Summer term.  

Candidates for Summer graduation should participate in May Commencement provided they have submitted an approved plan with no more than 8 credit hours remaining to be completed by the official Summer graduation dates.
