Taylor’s award-winning Film and Media Arts program will challenge and inspire you as you deepen skills in film, television, video, and audio production.
Taylor students create visual stories that are truthful, beautiful, and good, rooted in a Christian understanding of the world. God’s first act in the Bible is to create, and we’re made in his image, designed to create, and appreciate beauty as God does.
Student filmmakers in the Film and Media Arts program have won over 1,250 awards, placing high in national competitions that receive entries from hundreds of schools.

A Taylor liberal arts education will prepare you to live and work in a fast-changing world. It also goes a step further: laying a strong spiritual foundation that cultivates wisdom. You’ll become a well-versed individual, equipped with critical thinking skills, a lifelong love of learning, and an appreciation for God’s creation.
The Film & Media Arts program is now housed in a brand-new building, the Horne Academic Center. Equipped with top-notch technology, the building includes a 2,500-square-foot television studio and a 3,500-square-foot film sound stage.
Film and Media Arts students can spend a semester in LA through Taylor’s Hollywood Internship Program. Students complete two different internships in their areas of interest while taking a course taught by entertainment professionals, preparing for a successful and fulfilling career after graduation.
Sundance Film Festival
Spend J-term exploring independent film through the Sundance Study Trip. Begin with three weeks of remote coursework, then finish with a week in Park City, Utah, during the renowned Sundance Film Festival.
Join more than 200 Christian students at the Windrider Summit to hear filmmakers share the stories behind their work, then experience the festival firsthand through screenings across nine venues.
Envision Film Festival
See the best Taylor film work of the year at Taylor’s Envision Film Festival in March. Consider entering some of your best work in our two high school competitions; one for film and another for screenwriting. The high school winners can earn scholarship dollars for their freshman year at Taylor!
Hollywood Internship Program
Exceptional Film & Media Arts students with a passion for working and serving in the entertainment industry who have a 3.25 GPA overall may apply to the Hollywood Internship Program. Those accepted spend one semester of their junior or senior year in Hollywood, learning what it means to thrive as a Christian in the entertainment industry.
International Production Trip
Travel overseas with the Film program, learning what it takes to tell the stories of another culture. Fulfill Taylor’s cross-cultural requirement with a camera in your hands. In past years, students have gone to Rwanda, Uganda, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Portugal.
Taylor Film Camp
High school students, get ready to plunge into the world of film production with Taylor University’s hands-on summer Film Camp. Fueled by your creativity, this high-energy, fast-paced film production week will take you from concept, to scripting, through shooting and post-production editing.
The National Association of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Central Great Lakes Chapter, recognizes student work from across Indiana and Ohio. Taylor received 14 nominations in April and won nine Student Production Awards from the regional Emmy organization.
A film created by Taylor University students has advanced to the semifinal round of the 50th annual Student Academy Awards.
