At the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE), learning extends beyond the classroom. Through collaborative experiences, creative problem-solving, and partnerships with industry and community leaders, students gain the skills and confidence to innovate with purpose and lead with integrity. In addition to academic curriculum, the CIE provides a full slate of opportunities throughout the year for students of all academic majors to develop innovation skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, exploring how their passions can shape meaningful impact.
Bring your business concepts before a panel of judges and compete for cash and in-kind prizes. Many Trojan Arena winners such as Allera Tech, Sky Manufacturing, Lucidity Statistical Consulting, Godspeed, Cord Puck, and Joy Box have gone on to establish businesses pre- and post-graduation.
Grow your leadership capabilities as Summer Staff in the IMPACT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Camp. This residential summer camp helps high school students develop key leadership skills through a dynamic hands-on innovation and entrepreneurship lab experience.

The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship is located in the Vandermeulen Innovation Hub in the Horne Academic Center, through a generous donation from longtime alumna and friend of the University Elaine (Brunz ’62) Vandermeulen.
The high-energy space is a state-of-the-art location for students to work on their ideas, meet with visiting entrepreneurial professionals, and build connections. It also hosts events throughout the year.
