Taylor Theatre Presents All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten

Taylor Theatre presents Robert Fulghum’s All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten on February 23-24 and March 1 at 7:30 pm, and February 25th and March 3rd at 2 pm in Taylor University’s Mitchell Theatre.

Based on Robert Fulghum’s best-selling books, Kindergarten takes a funny, insightful, heartwarming look at what is profound in everyday life. This tightly woven adaptation has earned standing ovations all over the world. 

The delightful stories feature colorful characters such as a shy little boy who insists on playing the “pig” in his class production of Cinderella and steals the show and a man whose dream of flying carries him high over Los Angeles…in a lawn chair buoyed by surplus weather balloons. We meet a “mother of the bride” who’s staged a perfect wedding—until the bowling ball of fate rolls down the aisle, and a modern-day Greek philosopher who finds the meaning of life in a piece of broken mirror from World War II. 

“These stories celebrate our very existence, from the whimsy of childhood to the wisdom of old age,” said Scenic Designer Ryan Maloney. “If it feels like you’re in a grade school cafetorium, or in the neighborhood hangout spot from your childhood, or your parent’s old garage surrounded by junk and memories, welcome home. There aren’t many rules to this play, or play in general. The goal was always a space where imagination, freedom, and curiosity are the metrics for success and magic, miracle, and mystery are the main ingredients.”
