Taylor University’s Spring Spiritual Renewal series kicks off during the 10 am chapel hour on Monday, February 12, followed by evening services at 7 pm on Monday and Tuesday. The series will conclude with a service during the 10 am chapel hour on Wednesday.

The series’ featured speaker is Nate Nupanga, Location and Teaching Pastor at Mercy Road Church in Carmel, Indiana. Shaped by his upbringing, Nupanga—who was raised in four different African countries and speaks five languages—has a deep love for people of all backgrounds and cultures. Nupanga graduated from Taylor in 2014 and is completing his Master of Arts in Leadership from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served in various pastoral roles since leaving Taylor.

The theme of Nupanga’s sermon series is “No other gods,” focusing on different idols that we allow to become “gods” in our lives and how we can surrender those idols together.

Throughout the spring semester in chapel, the Taylor community will explore the subject of trust. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Spiritual Renewal is held multiple times a year. Over the course of a three-day period, the Taylor community gathers four times to worship and sit underneath powerful Bible teaching from a seasoned and respected Christian teacher. Students, faculty, and staff are challenged, uplifted, and renewed and they gather to sing and listen to teaching from the Word of God.
