Career Highlights

Stephen Olson ‘98 serves as Vice President for Business and Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Taylor University. In this role, he oversees the University’s financial operations, investments, and business services, contributing as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and the President’s Cabinet. Stephen has decades of professional experience in accounting, management, and higher education finance. A 1998 graduate of Taylor University, he obtained his CPA license in 2001 and his MBA from Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2003. In his work, Stephen is committed to stewarding Taylor’s resources with wisdom and integrity, ensuring the institution’s long-term strength and sustainability.

About

Stephen and his wife, Kari (who met while students at Taylor), have four children. The two older children are currently students at Taylor, and the other two are planning to attend after graduating high school. Stephen enjoys sports and particularly loves pickleball and running. Other hobbies include reading novels and building Lego sets (of course, just those designed for adults). The Olson family attends Upland Community Church and has participated in many service and leadership opportunities at UCC, including Bible quizzing, nursery, Sunday school, and the Youth Ministries board.
