Director of Residence Life
Thank you for clicking on my profile! I hope to meet you in person soon. I love Taylor residence life, and it has deeply formed the person I am today. I grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, and loved playing lacrosse and getting on the water, but my time in the Midwest has formed me the most, aside from my developing walk with Jesus. I came to Taylor much like I came to faith, excited but unsure what it meant or was going to entail. I certainly had no idea that I would be working here a decade later. I am particularly driven by learning and think about formation. How is God using these college years to form students? What role do I play in the formation of students while I am still being formed? How does living in a residence hall impact your formation? If you are also interested in questions like these too, let’s get coffee. I believe in the mission of Taylor and the unique philosophy of Residence Life at Taylor and its role in the formation of our students. Aside from talking about Taylor and your development as a person, I would love to talk about books and baking with you. Baking has become a passion of mine. During my time at Taylor, I have lived in four of its Residence Halls, calling Wengatz my home for four years, Campbell for a summer, and serving in both Swallow Robin Hall and Samuel Morris Hall as the Hall Director. After serving as a Hall Director at another institution, I am excited to be back at Taylor. My wife, Leigh (pronounced Lee), and I live in Upland and are new home-owners. We love our church, walking around campus, watching Seinfeld, perusing book stores, lounging in coffee shops, trying to be good neighbors, and reading good books. We look forward to getting to know you.
