Biography

I am the University's Disability Resource Officer. I have the opportunity to work with students with disabilities to determine appropriate academic accommodations as well as provide support and guidance as we look to find ways to help all students be successful academically.

Much of my time is spent sitting with students celebrating the victories and lamenting the challenges. It's an honor to be allowed to be a part of student's lives in this way. I love the opportunities that I have to sit with students and tell them that we believe in them and want to do what we can to help.

One of the hardest things for new students to do is to ask for help! Here's one word of strong encouragement: you don't have to have it all together. It is okay to still be figuring things out. For our students with disabilities, I would specifically encourage them to take advantage of the accommodations they are eligible for. Transition is hard. College is hard. Plan to utilize your accommodations and then adjust as needed.

My family and I live here in Upland and love being a part of the local community. Most evenings you will find us watching one of our kids play sports or at a Taylor athletic event.
