Career Accomplishments

Dr. Dayana Restrepo is a developmental psychologist with 11 years of experience in higher education as a professor, researcher, graduate advisor, and academic editor.

Prior to joining Taylor University, she served as Professor of Psychology at Universidad del Norte and Universidad de la Costa (CUC), Colombia. She also served as Editorial Coordinator of the peer-reviewed journal Cultura, Educación y Sociedad and as Head of the Developmental Psychology and Psychopathology Research Group.

Her research focuses on emotional regulation, developmental psychology, educational psychology, academic stress, psychophysiology, and mental health in children, adolescents, and young adults.

She has authored and co-authored publications in leading international journals, including Political Psychology, Physiology & Behavior, BMC Psychology, Trends in Neuroscience and Education, and the International Journal of Bullying Prevention, as well as in Q1 journals across Europe and Latin America. Her research has involved collaborations with scholars throughout Latin America, Europe, and North America.

Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, I have lived and worked in Argentina, Chile, France, Colombia, and now the United States, experiences that have shaped both my personal perspective and my academic interests in human development, emotions, diversity, and education.

I live in Greentown, Indiana, with my husband, Vincent, and our two sons, Isaac and Mateo. As a family, we enjoy traveling, experiencing different cultures, and spending time outdoors.
