Why I Enjoy Teaching at Taylor

I teach at Taylor mainly because I desire to advance the mission and purposes of the institution with like-minded colleagues who are committed to the holistic development and graduation of the next generation of Christian leaders.  These students are equipped with a Christian liberal arts education as well as a depth of knowledge and skills in their major fields.  Also, I've witnessed, over my 23 years of service, the deep commitment of the members of the Board of Trustees to sustain Taylor’s Christ-centered mission and distinctive “community spirit” in ways that advance our learning, living and serving university of scholarship and faith.

My interests include a wide-range of vocal and instrumental music genres, domestic and international travel that includes stops at lighthouses along the way.  Sports, reading, gardening and landscaping also provides opportunities for renewal and enjoyment.  My golf game is pretty sad but I really enjoy the fellowship with friends that are shared on these occasions.  As faculty members, we have multiple opportunities to interact with terrific students both inside and outside the classroom.  Also, we've been blessed with a special family and my wife and I enjoy regular visits to Colorado Springs and Indianapolis where we enjoy being involved in the lives and activities of our four grandchildren.
