We follow these commitments that shape our community, reflecting Christ’s love in both purpose and practice.
Taylor is nondenominational because we intentionally welcome a broad range of denominational traditions that affirm our Statement of Faith, not because we minimize theological differences. We believe the convictions we share in Christ are stronger than the differences between us.
As a community, we choose to emphasize what unites us—listening to one another, valuing one another, and recognizing that theological differences do not prevent us from worshiping, learning, and growing together in Christ Jesus.
The Spiritual Life & Intercultural Leadership team creates space for those transformational moments to happen. And it's more than chapel! Yes, chapel is the main event we look forward to every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 am, but there are so many other ways that we seek to be fully present with God each day.
Spiritual Life and Intercultural Leadership (SLIL) exists to nurture Christ-centered spiritual formation and cultivate a globally engaged community. Rooted in Taylor’s mission to develop servant-leaders, SLIL weaves together worship, discipleship, and intercultural learning to shape students holistically. We create an environment where students deepen their walk with Christ while engaging meaningfully across cultures—growing in their understanding of God’s work in the world and in one another.
Our vision reflects the biblical image of Heaven: a multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language worshiping Christ (Rev. 7:9). At Taylor, students have abundant opportunities to learn and grow together in a community that values and celebrates all backgrounds.
We believe every student is better prepared for the future by participating in a global community. Through these experiences, students form connections that help them become more effective intercultural leaders and faithful Christ-followers.
Our student team is shaped by mentoring relationships that foster both skill development and spiritual growth. Through hands-on guidance and shared leadership, students are encouraged to grow in responsibility, collaboration, and faith as they serve the campus community together.
