Participating in Taylor collegiate, club, or intramural athletics can be great way to be stewards of our bodies for Christ. Although we take strong care of academics, we want to make sure we also take strong care of our bodies.
It’s no surprise that Taylor University, with its deep Christian commitment and highly rated academic program, hosts equally robust athletic programs and opportunities. Collegiate athletics, club athletics, and intramural athletics all provide an opportunity for anyone who wants to play a sport. Our hope is students participate in athletic programming to not only have a good time, but for the good of the body of Christ and the encouragement of each other.
Since the beginning of Taylor University intercollegiate athletics in 1933, we have focused on developing the whole person—body, mind, and soul—for excellence on and off the field and service at home and around the world. We now have 16 intercollegiate athletic teams ranging from football and golf, to volleyball and tennis. Whether you are on the field or in the stands, our teams add a great deal to campus life.
Taylor also offers a variety of club teams, including cycling, rugby, an equestrian team, a men’s volleyball and men’s and women’s lacrosse teams. Each club has students who are dedicated to making the programs the best they can be through hard work and Christ-likeness on and off the field.
If you are looking for a way to blow off steam in a more casual athletic setting, check out our intramural programs. Organized by the Taylor Student Organization, sports include flag football, basketball and soccer as well as a few non-traditional choices like ultimate frisbee and dodgeball. Being involved in intramurals can be a great way to bond with your roommates.
