Intercollegiate Athletics:
Taylor University provides additional excess insurance coverage for students who participate in intercollegiate athletics at no additional cost to the student. Since the Student Insurance Plan provides base coverage for the first $1,500 of covered expenses, all students who participate in intercollegiate athletics are strongly encouraged to enroll in the Student Insurance Program. In the event of a claim, the Student Insurance Plan will pay the first $1,500 of covered expenses, which is primary coverage. Then the family or employer group coverage, which is secondary, must contribute to its maximum and then the Taylor University Athletic Insurance policy will pay for certain 'Usual and Customary' medical expenses remaining to the maximum stated. If there is no other insurance available, the Athletic Insurance policy wil pay 'Usual and Customary' medical expenses remaining to the maximum stated. All athletes must provide information about their personal coverage. A request for this information will be distributed by the Athletic Department.
