Students Awarded Scholarships to Attend Indie Author Conference

On Saturday, October 15, 2011, Dr. Dennis E. Hensley and 15 of his Taylor University professional writing majors attended the Indie Author Conference held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Indianapolis. Collectively, these students were awarded $4,500 in attendance scholarships so that they were able to attend this day-long conference. Keynote speakers for the event were Michael Hyatt, CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishing Company, and Lisa Genova, author of the two-million-copies best-seller Still Alice. Workshop instructors included novelist Kathi Macias, publicist VIcki Bohlsen, actor Marcus Chait, and literary agent Laurie McLean of the Larsen Pomade Agency.
