Ben Sells, PhD, Vice President for University Advancement

Ben Sells

Since 2006 Ben has been serving Taylor as the Vice President for University Advancement. In this role he provides leadership for the University’s efforts to engage alumni, parents, and friends with their time, talent, and treasure to further the mission of Taylor University. Ben and his wife, Lisa, are graduates of Southwest Baptist University, and Ben received his MA and PhD from the University of Missouri. Ben and Lisa have four children, Emily ’11, Patrick ’13, Abby ’15, and Tyler. The Sells live in Upland and are active members of the community.

Michael Falder '94, Executive Director of Development

Michael Falder

As the Executive Director of Development Mike provides planned giving assistance and leads the team of Regional Directors for Development as they travel the country meeting with alumni and friends. Prior to returning to Taylor in 2007, he served for 10 years as Executive Director of Central Michigan Youth for Christ. He completed his Masters Degree in Philanthropic Studies at Indiana University in 2012. Mike lives in Upland with his wife, Traci, and their children, Jonah and Lydia.

Sherri Harter, Executive Director of Development

Sherri HarterSherri has served Taylor for more than 25 years in the areas of public relations, donor relations, and philanthropy. As the Executive Director of Development, she provides leadership to the many areas of Development, including Taylor Fund, Scholarships, Stewardship, Development/Donor Services, and the Women's Giving Circle. Sherri and her husband, Ted, live in the Bluffton, Indiana, community.  The Harters have two sons – Thad '12 and Tory, a current Taylor student.

David Ritchie

David has been serving as a member of the Advancement staff since he joined the team in 2000 as the editor of Taylor magazine. He currently serves as the Senior Director of Campaigns. David and his family live in Upland.

Tom Green '81, Regional Director of Development

Tom GreenTom serves as one of Taylor’s Regional Directors for Development. He has the joy of working with Taylor alumni, parents, and friends throughout the eastern third of the U.S. in order to advance the mission of Taylor University.

Tom is married to Laurie (Kesler) Green, also class of ’81. Their three children are married and have blessed them with four beautiful grandchildren. He joined Taylor’s Advancement team in 2007 after working for 25 years in the investment industry. Tom is a fan of all sports – particularly the Colts and Cubs. He has also enjoyed acting on stage and in some television commercials over the years.

Nelson Rediger '66, Regional Director of Development

Nelson RedigerNelson has been serving with Taylor since 1986 as a Regional Director for Development. Nelson works with Taylor alumni, parents and friends nationwide in order to advance the mission of Taylor University.  Nelson lives in Muncie, Indiana, with his wife, Beth, also a Taylor alum. Their two daughters, Erin ’99 and April ’01, have blessed Nelson and Beth with six grandchildren.

Ken Wolgemuth '67, Regional Director of Development

Ken WolgemuthKen Wolgemuth serves with Taylor University as a Regional Director for Development. Ken serves Taylor alumni, parents, and friends in Illinois and western states in order to advance the mission of Taylor University.

Ken met his wife, Sharon, while an English Literature and Art student at Taylor. After graduation, he went first into campus youth ministry with Youth For Christ, which led him to a career in Christian publishing through the literature ministries of Campus Life Magazine, Zondervan, Word Publishing, and Urban Ministries – initially as a creative director and later in marketing and sales. Ken and Sharon live in Wheaton, Illinois, and have four daughters, two of whom are also Taylor alumnae, two sons-in-law, and seven granddaughters. Ken feels he has reached the best years of his life’s work by representing the alma mater for which he has always been passionate.

Kristie (Kuhnle) Jacobson '90, Regional Director of Development

Kristie JacobsonKristie serves as a Regional Director for Development in the Midwest, where she has the privilege of working with Taylor alumni, parents, and friends. Kristie started her career with Taylor in 1991 when she served as the director of public information, and then as the director of the Annual Fund (TUFW). She then began work with Project Mercy as a grant writer until 2003 when the Lord led her and her husband (Jeff '89) to start The Reclamation Project, a nonprofit that serves the refugee and immigrant community of Fort Wayne, Ind. Kristie led this organization as executive director for 10 years. Kristie returned to work in the Development department at Taylor in August of 2013.

Kristie and Jeff have four children. Their oldest son Gabe is serving as a U.S. Marine, their twin boys, Tate and Levi, are in high school, and their daughter Chloe is in middle school.

Laura Key, Director of Advancement & Donor Services

Laura KeyLaura has been with Taylor since 1997. Her job as the Director of Advancement and Donor Services allows her to provide database support, write reports, and oversee the receipting of gifts to the University. Laura and her husband John live in Swayzee, Ind., where John serves as the pastor of Maple Run Friends Church. They have two grown children, Samuel and Abby ’10.

Laura’s area is also served by the Data Specialist, Christi Stargel, and the Assistant to Donor Services, Barbra Haley.

Tony Manganello '99, Director of the Taylor Fund

Tony ManganelloAs the Director of the Taylor Fund, Tony works within the Advancement Office to strategize, organize, and implement Taylor’s comprehensive annual giving program through direct mail, the student calling program, online giving, personal visits, and other areas. Tony grew up in Upland and graduated from Taylor University with a degree in Communication Studies and also holds a master of arts in International Relations and Conflict Resolution from the American Military University. He served for eleven years as a special agent with the United States Secret Service stationed in Los Angeles, Indianapolis, and Washington, D.C., prior to returning to Taylor and joining the Advancement team. Tony is married to Linda Manganello, a Taylor graduate and faculty member, and they have two young daughters.

Bethany (Cleveland) Bolte '10, Assistant Director of the Taylor Fund 

Bethany BolteAs Assistant Director of the Taylor Fund, Bethany works with the student calling program, young alumni projects, and direct mail campaigns. She worked in Seoul, South Korea, and Anderson, Ind., before returning to Taylor. She graduated from Taylor in 2010 with a major in Media Communication with a Public Relations focus. She now lives with her husband, Jordan Bolte, in Upland.

Kelsey (Warren) Mitchener '10, Coordinator of Scholarships

Kelsey MitchenerKelsey joined Taylor's Development staff in 2011. As Coordinator of Scholarships, Kelsey serves as the contact person for donor-connected annual and endowed scholarships, prepares promotional and informational materials related to scholarships, writes grant proposals and reports, and provides editorial assistance to the greater Advancement office. Kelsey graduated from Taylor in 2010 with a degree in English and does freelance editing in her off time. She lives in Upland with her husband, Nathan.
