ECRU

What's an ECRU?

Besides being a color (a light brown or beige for you guys reading this) ECRU at Taylor (pronounced e-crew) stands for E-mail Contact Recruitment Unit (pretty official sounding, huh?)

Why are they here?

Okay. . . this should be pretty self-explanatory.

You've got questions. . . ECRU has answers. You can e-mail your specific question to a particular ECRU member and one of the CRU will get back to you with an appropriate (we hope) answer.

Pretty simple stuff, huh? There are, however, two simple ground rules you'll need to follow:

  1. Before ECRU will respond to you, you need to be "on file" with the Admission's office - Don't worry, if you're not, you can "get official" here. (It's pretty painless)
  2. Your question doesn't have to be "serious" but it does have to be real (no, "Can I date you?" type questions).

Although this is designed specifically for prospective students, there are others who might find this helpful:

  • Mom and Dad  -  feel free to send your questions in as well, just reference your students name (that will take care of ground rule #1) and the CRU will get an answer back to you.
  • Alums - Want to see how life has changed? Curious about happenings in your old hall? Go ahead and jump in!

Hometown: Louisville, KY
Major:  International Studies and Psychology
Me, in one word or less: Unconventional

I came to Taylor because: After visiting a number of schools, Taylor really had the close knit feel that I was looking for.  Everyone at Taylor seemed excited to be there and excited to have me come to Taylor.  It felt like the right fit.

My favorite Taylor memory is: Sitting on the floor, eating Chinese takeout without utensils, with a bunch of my friends

My career aspirations are: in God's hands.  Something overseas, maybe?

I enjoy: Watching Gilmore Girls, having chapel three times a week, eating anything chocolate, reading good books, and hanging out with the girls on my wing.

Me, in one word or less: Quirky

I came to Taylor because: of the community that I felt here when I visited.

My favorite Taylor memory is: going to the Christmas banquet with my wing, then watching "Elf" at our wing hook-up's house.  Later that night it snowed for the first time and we went out to play in it.

My career aspirations are: eventually get an MBA and possibly open my own business.

I enjoy: music, reading, being with friends and family, small towns, running, watching movies, pickleball, lakes and boats

Hometown: Rochester, MN
Major: Christian Education and Biblical Literature
Me, in one word or less: Bold

I came to Taylor because: God knows me better than I know myself.  I came here for a visit sure I wanted to go to Wheaton, and left knowing I would be studying amidst the corn, with the most wonderful disciples of Christ.

My favorite Taylor memory is: the people, pure and simple. From the revitalizing Christian Education retreats put on by the seniors in my major, to the 2-hour conversation I recently had (at 1:30 in the morning no less) with a close friend, my friends here at Taylor are an ongoing memory that encourage me day by day.

My career aspirations are: I want to go to seminary, then another grad school for Women's Studies, then the Culinary Institute of America.  After that, my plans are to open a restaurant with the proceeds going directly to the homeless, develop a mansion home for stray animals, and found an organization similar to Christians for Biblical Equality-go egalitarianism! Plus travel the whole world with my dad, and bake everything with my mom. And then switch. My parents are amazing-and have been married for thirty years!

I enjoy: taffy, reading, Greek, shopping, pumpkin muffins (with chocolate chips), dynamic conversations, guitar, passionate people, speaking, getting my eyebrows plucked, traveling, ellipses...

Me, in one word or less: Indescribable

I came to Taylor because: I was given the opportunity to study in Ireland my first semester.

My favorite Taylor memory is: When my group took second place at Airband! We didn't even think we would make the initial cut! And, I got to dress like I was in an episode of Saved by the Bell-of course it is my favorite memory!

My career aspirations are: I want to go to Seminary, snag a PhD, write books ("best sellers," of course) and be a college professor in Biblical Studies....of course this changes every few months, so it will be interesting to see what happens!

I enjoy: traveling, reading, writing, creating art, thinking...basically, life.
