Major career accomplishments:
The most satisfying and significant contributions of my career are related to the mentoring of students, and the developing of deep and lasting friendships across racial and cultural boundaries. Racial reconciliation and addressing institutional racism are central to my work, including work in infant mortality prevention, diabetes and cardiovascular disease prevention, and HIV/AIDS prevention.
