Why I Came to Taylor:
I came to Taylor in 1999 because of the opportunity to teach in a leading Environmental Science program among Christian Colleges. During my time here, I have had many great opportunities to explore God’s creation with students and to develop solutions to address some of the many environmental problems we face today. My greatest interest is in developing, protecting and managing our precious water resources; locally, regionally and internationally. (See the video link to the Guatemala trip on the main EES page.)

Advice to Incoming Students:
Come to the Earth and Environmental Science program ready to “link, learn and launch”. We will help you link to other like-minded students and to potential vocational callings in Environmental Science. We will help you learn the knowledge, values and skills of natural science and human systems to be an effective environmental scientist and steward of God’s creation. Finally, we will launch you to graduate school or a job with the help of our EES faculty and alumni and our Calling and Career Center. Come join us!
I thoroughly enjoy interacting with my students and my family in God’s creation, especially water. I love to sail the lakes in Minnesota, kayak the Outer Banks in North Carolina, and canoe down our local Mississinewa River. Our family enjoys hiking and exploring the western U.S. national parks. I also love to ride my bike around town and to work every day.
