Major career accomplishments:
As a participant in the Advanced Placement Statistics Reading for several years, I was invited to make two presentations there for the Best Practices in Statistics Education Session. In 2007, I presented “Classroom Activities in Probability”, and “Using Student Generated Data for Inference Classroom Activities” in 2009.
I have been privileged to work with a national research group sponsored by the American Statistical Association studying the use of fun in statistics education. We presented preliminary results from our most recent study, “Using Fun in the Statistics Classroom: An Exploratory Study of College Instructors’ Hesitations and Motivations”, at the US Conference on Teaching Statistics 2011 in Raleigh, NC.
