Application Process
The Lighthouse application is in two parts:
- Part 1: Personal and medical information, ministry experience, references
- Part 2: Destination selection, Christian experience
If you are interested in participating in the Lighthouse program during Interterm 2010, you must do the following:
- Pray about your involvement in the project
- Complete the application process below (Parts 1 & 2, references, pastor and parent emails)
- Attend at least one of the information meetings (April 20 or 22, 9PM in NS123)
- Be on campus during fall semester
- Be able to take IAS 120 on Monday nights, 7-9pm during the fall
Steps to Apply
1. Download the document with the information and essays you will need to answer on the application. The application cannot be saved once it is started, so we recommend that you type the essay responses into Word and then copy and paste your essays into the application
2. Complete Part 1 of the online application form by April 9, 2009.
3. Email the link you receive at the end of Part 1 of the application to each of the following references...
- faculty advisor or professor who knows you well
- your hall director (undergraduates only; grad students please submit a 2nd faculty reference)
- your current PA (undergraduates only; grad students please submit a reference from a former employer, hall director, RA, or other student development staff person)
- a student who knows you well
4. Have your pastor or other adult spiritual advisor send an email of recommendation to lighthouse@taylor.edu.
5. Complete Part 2 of the online application form by May 4, 2009.
6. Have your parent or guardian send an email expressing their views regarding your participation in this ministry to lighthouse@taylor.edu by May 4 (undergraduates only).
