Orientation Leader

Generally, the primary responsibility of an Orientation Leader is to support the New Student Orientation program.  This is accomplished by assisting with planning and implementation Welcome Weekend, serving as a discussion group leader in IAS 101, and providing quality peer leadership to freshmen and other new students. 

Specific duties are as follows:

  • Serve on an orientation task team and perform assigned duties related to Welcome Weekend and/or Summer Orientation.  Many of these tasks will be completed during the spring semester in IAS 352.
  • Fulfill time commitments for IAS 352, Summer Orientation, Leadership Week, Welcome Weekend, and Fall Semester
  • Lead a discussion group section of IAS 101, supporting the lecture section of IAS 101
  • Maintain attendance records for assigned discussion group section
