Discipleship Assistant
A Discipleship Assistant (DA) is responsible for promoting private Christian worship among the Taylor student body in general and his floor/wing in particular.
She or he should possess an exemplary Christian character and lifestyle (including a growing commitment to regular Bible reading, prayer and local church involvement). A DA should work well with others and have the respect of his peers, professors and any other leaders under whom she has served. This is a highly relational job. A DA must therefore be energized by relationships.
Specific Description
A DA is responsible for assisting the Discipleship Coordinator (DC) in planning and promoting private worship among the members of his residence hall. This includes:
- Taking personal responsibility for and creatively promoting the spiritual well being of her own floor/wing in the areas of regular Bible reading, prayer and local church attendance.
- Promoting membership in small groups for spiritual support and accountability among the students on his floor/wing.
- Recruiting qualified persons to lead small groups.
- Providing energetic, creative and biblical leadership to the small group leaders.
- Planning, promoting and producing a calendar of varied and regular events that further the spiritual well-being of the floor/wing.
- Supporting the goals and objectives of the DC.
- Serving as an aid, ally and advocate of the PA.
- Other duties as assigned by the DC.
