Visit Assistants (3-4 Positions)

Basic Function: The Visit Assistant is an Admissions paraprofessional who organizes and schedules all activities for an individual prospective student's visit to Taylor University.

Responsibilities: This position averages 11 hours of office time per week.  Responsibilities include confirming and planning all campus visits, maintaining an organized visit schedule, helping other Visit Assistants when possible, supervising the CREW Assistants, and providing support for the overall visit program.

Saturday Office Host (2-3 Positions)

Basic Function: The Saturday Office Host is an Admissions paraprofessional who welcomes and greets all Saturday visitors, assisting the Admissions Counselor during campus visits.

Responsibilities: This position averages 3 hours of Saturday morning office work per week.  Responsibilities include opening and preparing the Admissions Office for visitors, greeting and socializing with prospective students and families, and providing support for the overall visit program.

TeleCounselors (10-12 Positions)

Basic Function: Paraprofessional admissions staff who contact prospective students by telephone focusing on helping prospective students take the "next step" in the admissions process, determining their level of interest, and supporting other recruitment efforts with directed phoning.

Admissions Intern (7 Positions)

Basic Function: Reporting to the Coordinator of On-Campus Recruitment, the Admissions Intern is a paraprofessional who makes frequent informational presentations and other high visibility contacts with prospective students and their families.  The Admissions Intern also assists in the completion of team projects, providing coordination in a specific support area.

Responsibilities: Become a resource to prospective students and their families by sharing with them the vision of Taylor University.  Communicate the areas of the Taylor Tradition of scholarship, leadership and Christian commitment through the use of facts, figures and most importantly personal narrative.  Link personal student experiences to Taylor information.  Gain a deeper understanding of admissions procedures and functions, while assisting in the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of the current program. 

Admissions CREW (18 Positions - 9 female, 9 male)

Basic Function: Paraprofessional Admissions staff who personalize the prospective students visit to the Taylor community and participate in selected on-campus recruitment activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Tours: Conduct campus tours for prospective students and their families.  Give the prospective student a thorough look at the Taylor campus and facilities while focusing on specific interest they may have.
  • Lunches: Accompany the prospective students and their families to the dining commons for lunch to answer any questions they may have as it relates to the Taylor experience. The time commitment is up to three hours a week.
  • Overnights: Expose the prospective student to the residence hall experience by hosting them overnight in their rooms.  Emphasize the residence halls living learning experience and social activities.  Accompany the prospective students to all meals as well as campus events such as concerts, chapel services, recitals, plays, and athletic events.  Raise awareness among the general student population regarding the presence of the prospective students. The time commitment is an average of 2 overnights every other week.
  • CVD: Provide prospective students and key influencers an opportunity to visit Taylor and be exposed to faculty, administrators, students, academic programs, etc.  Assist with assembling visit packets, planning activities, and recruiting volunteers for overnight guests.  Specific responsibilities will be assigned by the Coordinator of Student Services. The time commitment is four hours the week of CVD plus two hours on CVD.

BLOG (4 Positions)

These individuals are storytellers who are willing to share.  If you would rather work from your room at any point in your day; express your thoughts, insights, and stories in a compelling way; and are comfortable on the computer, this could be a job for you.

E-mail Correspondence Recruiting Unit (E.C.R.U.) (4 Positions)

The E.C.R.U. staff will have the responsibility of making and maintaining e-mail correspondence with prospective Taylor students.  Your main responsibility would be to send a weekly "newsletter" about your life at Taylor and then to respond to any contacts made by the prospective students.  You will be our link to students that have requested information about the campus and assist those that are in the midst of the application process. The time commitment is approximately 5 hours a week.
