Coach's Email Ted Bowers

The 2009 track and field season will be Ted Bowers seventh at the helm of the Lady Trojans' program, but it will be his 22nd with the team.

A 1973 graduate of Taylor, Bowers was a four-year letterman and served as team captain. He began his coaching career in the high school ranks in Cocoa, Florida and later coached in Ohio.

A fixture on the Taylor coaching staff since 1988, he has worked with sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers and multi-event athletes. The Lady Trojans have broken five school records in the past six years.

He realizes that he is following in some large footsteps, "Taylor track & field is a program that people have respected for years. The way our team represents Christ and honors Him with their efforts at the highest level is it's most important attribute. The real challenge is to lead our team in such a way that we continue to bring honor to the Lord and grow in our relationships with Him."

Bowers currently serves as the First Vice-President of the NAIA Coaches Association.

In addition to coaching women's and men's track, he is head coach of the men's cross country team and is in his ninth year of Director of Sports Information at Taylor,

Bowers lives in Upland with his wife, Dana.
