Coach's Email Cindy Callison

Cindy Callison took over the the reins of the Lady Trojan cross-country program in 2002 with plenty of first-hand knowledge concerning the program.

Callison ran for the Lady Trojans from 1987-89, earning honors as a NCCAA All-American and competing at the 1989 NAIA National Championship.

In recent years Callison has coached Lolly York, two-time NAIA All-American in cross-country, and Alyssa Johnson, who placed 5th at the 2009 NAIA Track and Field Championships in the 1500 meter run to earn All-American honors.

Callison, a 1989 graduate of Taylor, has also been an assistant coach with the cross-country and track programs since 2002-03 academic year. Her coaching experience includes two years as the head girl's cross-country and track coach at Blackford High School.  

Currently an art teacher in the Huntington school system, Callison lives in Upland with her husband Mel and their son, Zane.

 

 

ASSISTANT COACH - RUTH OZMUN

Ruth OzmunRuth Ozmun enters her first year as an assistant coach for the Taylor University women's cross country program.

Ozmun earned a B.S. degree in physical education from Taylor in 1979 and coached both track and field and volleyball at Taylor from 1981-84.

An accomplished distance runner after her years at Taylor, Ozmun qualified for and competed in the US Women's Olympic Marathon Trials in 1984, 1988, and 1992. She is a member of the Taylor Athletic Hall of Fame and was named Indiana's Female Road Runner of the Year in 1984.

Head coach Cindy Callison expressed her excitement in having Ozmun join her staff. "We are looking forward to having someone with such a high caliber of running experiences and expertise. The new perspectives and ideas that she will bring to the program should be very beneficial, and we are delighted to have her back in the Taylor community."

Ozmun and her husband John, also a Taylor alumnus, have four sons, Chet, Gus, John, and Ray.
