Taylor University head football coach Ron Korfmacher has been named Regional Co-Coach of the Year by the American Football Coaches Association as announced on Wednesday. It is Korfmacher's first regional award and the first won by a Taylor football coach.

In an incredible end to a turnaround season, the 25th-ranked Taylor Trojans defeated the 11th ranked St. Francis Cougars 23-16 on Saturday afternoon. The Trojans put nine points on the board in the second half and kept the USF offense out of the end zone during the second half to notch the victory.
The Taylor football team defeated Olivet Nazarene 45-35 on the road Saturday to guarantee the Trojans their first winning season since 1999. Taylor improved to 6-3 overall with one regular season game remaining.
