Kyle Gould
Coach's EmailThe 2008 season will mark the fourth year at the helm for Head Coach Kyle Gould.
Gould is a 2002 Taylor graduate, where he started all four years and was an all-conference catcher.
Since arriving at Taylor in 2005, Gould's teams have posted an overall record of 81-72. Over the last three seasons, he has coached 10 First Team All-Conference players and 5 All-Region VIII selections.
In 2006, Gould led the Trojans to perhaps their greatest season in the program's history. The Trojans broke the school record for wins in a season (33), won the conference tournament, and received a berth in the NAIA regional tournament.
Taylor also received national attention, reaching as high as #22 in the NAIA national rankings.
Aside from his coaching duties, Gould also works as an Assistant Athletic Director.
Gould and his wife, Kate, live in Fishers.
Assistant Coach - Rick Atkinson
Atkinson played baseball at Taylor for three years under then Head Coach Jack King, followed by one season at Greenville College under Bob Smith. After his collegiate playing days, Atkinson signed with the Atlanta Braves.
A 2003 Indiana High School Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, Atkinson has served as an assistant under Taylor head coach Kyle Gould for the last three seasons. He also spent two years as an assistant at Taylor during the 2000 and 2001 seasons.
After 38 years in education (8 years at Eastbrook High School and 30 years at Mississinewa High School), Atkinson retired in 2005 after serving the previous 24 years as Mississinewa High School's athletic director and 20 years as the Indians' head baseball coach.
Atkinson previously served as the president of the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association and was named the coach of the North squad in the North-South All Star Series.
The Central Regional Little League Headquarters in Indianapolis benefited from Atkinson's leadership as camp director from 1997-2001.
Previously, Atkinson coached the Anderson Lawmen and the Dubois County Dragons of the Independent Professional Baseball League for four years.
The parents of three adult children and six grandchildren, Rick and his wife Sondra reside in Gas City.
