Message from the Vice President for Business and Finance

Dear Taylor University Parents and Students,

Every year, Taylor University struggles to find the appropriate balance between issues such as improving current programs, rewarding our quality faculty and staff, dealing with other rising costs, and the reality of our price to our families.  This stewardship responsibility is among the most difficult tasks we undertake each year.  We want you to know that we spent a great deal of time these last few months reviewing the current marketplace and  looking at current programs, and requested improvements to our programs.  We also take seriously the commitment you are making to provide for this education.

The issues we confronted this year included:

  • Rising personnel costs including health related costs
  • Additional increases in faculty wages to help make our faculty wage more competitive
  • Financial aid requirements
  • Minimum wage increases for our students

Please know that we appreciate the sacrifices you are making to provide the education for your student.  We do not take that commitment lightly and continue to look for ways to creatively mitigate increases to our costs.

It is a joy to serve you and we thank you for the trust you have placed in us as we carry out our ministry to you, your family, and the cause of Christ.

Ron Sutherland
Vice President for Business and Finance
