Dereck is a Kenyan native and a 2006 Taylor graduate whose family currently resides in Columbus, OH.  He received his degree in Mass communication with a concentration in journalism along with a minor in Public Relations.

Dereck is involved with an inner-city Marion ministry through the Boys & Girls club.  During his time as a student, he was privileged to spend a semester in Sydney, Australia studying while having the opportunity to tour New Zealand.  He also spent an Interterm in the beautiful land of South Africa.
