Brown AuthorsThe Center for the Study of C.S. Lewis & Friends

Taylor University owns an extensive collection of first editions, manuscripts, and other materials from five notable Christian authors: C. S. Lewis, George MacDonald, Dorothy L. Sayers, Charles Williams and Owen Barfield.

As a Christian institution, our ultimate objective is to promote the kingdom of God on earth. We believe the writings of these authors do just that. The collection serves as a focal point, highlighting the enduring value of these authors.

Therefore, we conduct classes, seminars and independent studies for students on campus, host a biennial colloquium for people from around the world, and promote an area C. S. Lewis & Friends Society which meets bimonthly from September to May. These activities both encourage many to study the lives and writings of these authors and enhance the spiritual and academic life of Taylor University.

Please browse our Web pages to learn more about the Edwin W. Brown collection, the Frances White Ewbank C.S. Lewis and Friends Colloquium, and the other resources we have available.
