Finding Books

The following are relevant subject headings that can be used to search the Online Catalog. They are linked to results in Worldcat.org which may or may not be in our library.

When you search the Online Catalog, you may want to just use terms from the above subjects. If you use the advanced search the following limiters will return results that are only books which are available in the Zondervan Library. Format=Book (drop-down); Location=TU-Upland (drop-down). You may also wish to search for specific Presidents by name. (Example: Ronald Reagan AND faith)

E-Books

  • ACLS Humanities E-Book Collection
This collection, hosted by University of Michigan, is specifically focused on History and Geography. All books you find through this search are readable online. We have a link to this from the Library's Databases page.

E-books are also found in the Online Catalog. Use keyword: electronic book AND [name of president].

Finding Articles

  • JSTOR
TIP: Use the Search JSTOR Using Google search box on the library home page to obtain better relevancy.

  • America: History & Life
TIP: Limiting to full text will produce fewer results. Most titles are not full text but may be available in other databases. Search List of Magazines, Journals and Newspapers for further access. If you find the article is unavailable in full text, request it via Interlibrary Loan.

  • LexisNexis Academic
TIP: For newspaper articles in full text. Covers New York Times from 1865 to present.
