- Value Line Investment Survey. Last 6 months only. Ref 332.63 V24
One of the most highly regarded and widely used independent investment newsletters, Value Line's Investment Survey is published weekly and tracks approximately 1,700 stocks in over 90 industries. Its legendary Timeliness Ranking System ranks stocks on a scale of 1 to 5 for probable market performance over the next 6 to 12 months. Each edition includes ratings and reports, selection and opinions, as well as a summary and index.

Top Ten Rankings are divided by industry sector and are compiled from thousands of periodicals, newspapers, financial services, directories, statistical annuals and other printed materials. Primarily U.S.-based rankings, although some international data are included.
- Business statistics of the United States. 2004. Ref 330.973 B96S
This reference work, now in its tenth edition, covers the U.S. economy in detail, including GDP, industrial production, income distribution, consumer income and spending, savings and investment, government spending, foreign trade, prices, employment, energy, money and markets, international comparisons, industries, historical data, and state and regional data. Over 3,000 time series are included in this volume.

Designed especially for nonspecialists, students, and general readers, the encyclopedia helps novices understand the complex and sometimes confusing concepts and terms that are used in business. - Handbook of U.S. labor statistics. 2004. Ref 331.0973 H191
Provides recent and historical data on U.S. employment, earnings, prices, productivity, living conditions and related topics. Also includes data on training, alternative work arrangements, union affiliation, and occupational injuries.
- Business: the ultimate resource. 2002. Ref 658 B96
In seven sections, over 200 contributors offer insights, information, and practical guidance on every aspect of management. The Best Practice section includes some 160 mini-articles on competition, marketing, personnel and leadership; Management Checklists and Actionlists provide practical how-tos on conducting a termination interview, choosing an advertising agency and writing cover letters. Key business books, both new (1998's Blur) and classic (1937's How to Win Friends and Influence People), make up the Management Library, while the Business Thinkers and Management Giants section profiles movers and shakers from Astor to Edison to Woolworth. An authoritative and invaluable reference source on macroeconomics, this encyclopedia defines, lists, and explains the terminology of macroeconomics and its concepts. Contains over 300 short entries, and over 100 longer "main" entries written by noted scholars. Offers bibliographies for further reading, as well.

Offers a detailed road map of all the major, and some less-well known, economic indicators in existence today. Explaining exactly what they are, why they are significant, how reliable they are, and how to interpret them, it covers over 100 indicators, including: GDP Population, employment, unemployment Public expenditure Personal and disposable income Fixed investments Imports and exports Nominal exchange rates Money supply and money stock Wages, earnings, and labor costs.
- The Fortune encyclopedia of economics. 1993. Ref 330.03 F77H
Includes 157 essays written by 141 of the country's top economists with entries divided into categories such as "Economic Systems and Schools of Economic Thought," "Money and Banking," "Taxes," "Discrimination and Labor Issues," "Environmental Regulation" and "International Topics." In addition to the essays, the book also offers biographies of 75 of the world's leading economists, along with selected bibliographies of their work. The goal of this work is to show how general and inclusive the field of economics is.

- Business Source Premier
Provides abstracts and indexing for over 2,210 titles, including scholarly journals and general business periodicals. Full-text available online for 1,520 titles. Also features Country Monitor and Industry Yearbook Reports from WEFA, 35 country reports from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), and Wall Street Words (dictionary of financial terms). Subjects include management, economics, finance, accounting, and international business, among others.
- CorporateResource Net
Contains full text articles from nearly 1,350 quality magazines and journals, including full-text sources ranging from general publications, such as Fortune and Money, to trade publications such as American Demographics, Chemical Week, Electronic Business and Restaurant Hospitality. The collection of titles includes top management journals such as Academy of Management Executive, California Management Review, Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review. In addition, this database also provides detailed company profiles for the world's 5,000 largest companies.
- LexisNexis Academic--Business
This section of LexisNexis Academic contains company information including SEC reports, company financial reports, company profiles, business news, as well as business directories. To access this part of the LexisNexis, click the above link and choose "Business" from the row of buttons near the top (by News, Legal, and People).
- JSTOR
Presents the searchable full text of the complete back files for over 100 important scholarly journals. Coverage generally includes the first volume through issues published prior to the most recent 3-5 years (current issues are not available in JSTOR). Includes journals for the following disciplines: African-American studies, anthropology, Asian studies, ecology, economics, education, finance, history, literature, mathematics, philosophy, political science, population studies, sociology, and statistics. Also search JSTOR via Google Scholar by including "+JSTOR" in the search.

- Click here for a Business Subject Search in the Periodical List to find out what journals (and how many) we have available both in print and online. Click on the blue links to enter the actual list of titles. The numbers in parentheses beside the subject indicate how many journal titles are included in that subject area. This search includes all social sciences, so look for Business information under "Commerce," "Economics," "Finance," "Industries," and "Statistics."

- Wall Street Executive Library
A massive web directory of the most relevant and useful business sites. Links are divided up by major topic: Newspapers, TV & Radio, Government Research, Financial Market Research, Statistics & Economics Research, and Company & Industry Research, to name a few. While it might seem overwhelming, this is one of the most comprehensive directory web sites for the field of business - working professionals, educators, and students.
- Wachowicz's Web World: Web sites for discerning finance students
A web portal designed to parallel the finance textbook Fundamentals of Financial Management, it provides links to most major topics in the field. Sections are divided up to correlate with chapters in the text, and are entitled: Introducation to Financial Management, Valuation, Tools of Financial Analysis and Planning, Working Capital Management, Investment Capital Assets, The Cost of Capital, Capital Structure and Dividend Policy, Intermediate and Long-Term Financing, and Special Areas of Financial Management. It also provides online Excel spreadsheets for practice and study help.
- SEC filings & forms (EDGAR)
EDGAR = Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval System. An excellent source for business information including SEC filings (1993-present), address, phone numbers, state of incorporation, Central Index Key (CIK) number, Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code, and fiscal year end. The site indicates that "all companies, foreign and domestic, are required to file registration statements, periodic reports, and other forms electronically through EDGAR." It has an easy-to-use search feature and lists of SIC codes for quick location of companies and their financial information.
- Hoover's Online
Hoover's is known as an excellent source of business/company information. The most detailed and highly critical information is available for a fee to subscribers, however, they do offer quite a bit for free. The Search box on the right hand side of the page allows a search of the free content by company, industry, or executive.
- Export.gov
A U.S. government web site that covers export and international trade information. Much of the information is available to everyone, however, the latest country information and industry market research reports are available only to registered users. It also offers step-by-step export advice in the Export Basics section. Excellent resource for anyone interested in or learning about international trade and exporting from the U.S.

- RefWorks
A citation management program that allows you to collect and organize citations, create bibliographies and works cited pages, and format papers and bibliographies to a specific citation style.
- CREDO Reference (formerly xreferplus)
A conglomeration of specialized dictionaries and encyclopedias that allows you to search for definitions and encyclopedia articles, as well as develop ideas for expanding or refining a research strategy.
