Using the Library to get started with your Research

The following pages have been compiled by the librarians to highlight the most relevant resources available in the library for each major discipline.

Each term in the navigation menu to the left links to a page that provides a variety of research resources, including reference books, catalogs, subject specific databases, free web resources, research tools available through the library's web site, and the specific citation manual(s) preferred by each department, along with some online citation management programs.

Often, if a librarian has met with a specific class (i.e., CED 421) to discuss research for a particular assignment, there will be a link on that discipline's guide (in the example above, on the Christian Education guide) to a page for resources needed for that assignment.

Further Help in Finding Information

We've also included a page dedicated to more General Reference materials. This includes broad subjects, some statistical sources, world factbooks, and other links to free online information.

If you're interested in Copyright law, its implementation, and Fair Use in the academic environment, we've compiled a list of web resources that can be accessed at The Copyright Page.

Please direct any questions you have to any of the librarians.

You can locate us using the Ask-A-Librarian page.
