Did you know . . . that Copyright is now automatic?
10.22.2007
Academic blogger, Kevin Smith, of Duke University, recently posted that “Copyright is automatic whenever a work of original authorship is fixed. No notice (like the symbol ?) or registration is required anymore.”
Read more from his short post.
Also note on the Right side of his blog, Scholarly Communications @ Duke, he includes links to the broad categories of his entries, such as “Copyright in the Classroom,” “Authors' Rights,” and “Fair Use.”
Bookmark Kevin's blog to keep up on copyright, DRM, and scholarly publishing issues in academia.
