School of Liberal Arts

We're happy to welcome you to Taylor's new School of Liberal Arts.  The School of Liberal Arts consists of 12 departments and more than 70 full-time faculty who serve nearly 930 full time students who are majoring in programs ranging from Biblical studies to the arts and humanities and the social sciences.   The School of Liberal Arts also plays an integral role in providing core courses that are part of the university's highly respected general education curriculum.

Faculty and students from the School of Liberal Arts are deeply engaged in a wide variety of scholarly activities.  Students often participate in collaborative research that is presented with their professors at major conferences nationally, regionally, and at the state level.  Faculty frequently contribute to the discussion of significant issues through articles that are published in professional journals.  In addition, faculty from the School have authored books and participated in book projects that are focused on important topics in their disciplines and to the broader Christian community of scholars and citizens who seek to live as authentic disciples of Jesus Christ.

The School of Liberal Arts offers exciting opportunities for you to study the people and cultures of the world that God has created and to develop a deeper understanding of the work to which He is calling you through courses that explore language, artistic expression, cultural values and beliefs, and social/political organization. Each course is taught by a professor who is firmly committed to the task of helping students comprehend and fulfill the Lord's command in Matthew 22:37-39:  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind [and] love your neighbor as yourself."
