Curriculum Overview
The Master of Arts degree in Higher Education and Student Development is a 36-hour program, designed to be completed over four semesters (two academic years).
All full-time students will receive assistantship assignments designed to provide meaningful learning experiences and to help defray program costs. While it is anticipated that most students will attend full-time, qualified part-time students are welcome as space permits.
Curriculum Overview
- 36 Credit Hours/10 Courses and 2 internship experiences
- 2 years - 4 terms (fall, spring/fall, spring)
- 5 Cores
- 16 Specific Learning Outcomes
The program is designed to promote a practitioner-scholar model. This model places a strong emphasis on the development of the knowledge, skills, values and practical experiences necessary to the delivery of effective service in higher education.
Moreover, this model places a corresponding level of emphasis on the critical understanding that thoughtful research and inquiry can and should guide effective practice. The program prepares graduates to conduct and interpret research that will enable them to offer institutional and broader higher educational leadership.
