Personal Information

  • Began teaching at Taylor in 2008

My husband, Eric, and I have been married for 21 years.  We have five children ranging in age from 9 to 19.  Our third son has been dually diagnosed with autism and Downs syndrome.  God, in His providence, began preparing us for this when I began my career as a social worker in 1988.  After graduating from Ball State University, I was hired by Carey Services as a preschool social worker.  My duties included coordinating services for preschool children who were delayed developmentally and working with their families.  While pursuing my master's degere, I worked in the semi-independent living program and sheltered workshop setting.  This afforded me the privilege of working with adults with developmental disabilities and their families.  Since receiving my master's degree, I have worked part time as an outpatient therapist.  My social work degree has given me many opportunities to help others while being able to focus on my most important roles of wife and mother.  I am very thankful that God led me to teach at Taylor, and I look forward to teaching students about the wonderful profession of social work.
