Personal Information
- Began teaching at Taylor in 1992
Prior to beginning my career in academia, I worked for fourteen years (five years post MSW) in the social work profession in the Grant County (Indiana) community. My practice interest areas include developmental disabilities, mental health, child welfare and HIV/AIDS. I have been privileged to lead five Lighthouse trips through Taylor University to varying parts of the world. Currently, I am developing and leading professional social work study abroad trips for junior and senior level social work students.
I believe that Christians in modern day society must follow the principles that Christ lived by in respecting and working with people. I believe that Christ was the ultimate social worker and that we would be wise to pattern our interactions after His. We would then be able to talk and act with compassion, justice, fairness, and equity.
