Internships
In order to meet the requirements for certain majors in the music department, Taylor University offers the following internships:
Music Education
There are numerous opportunities for student teaching experiences. Students are required to experience micro-teaching in connection with music methods and education classes. A full semester of student teaching in two different settings leads to K-12 certification in choral/ general or instrumental/ general areas.
Church Music
Students are required to spend a semester working with a minister of music in a local church. These internships vary from traditional to contemporary church settings with the student taking an active leadership role.
Music Marketing and Management
Students spend at least four weeks working in the music industry. A variety of internship opportunities are available, ranging from arts management to music business, technology, sales or production, depending on the student's skill and career interests.
