Music Auditions and Scholarships
All prospective music majors must complete an audition by March 1 of the year prior to entering Taylor. The audition consists of three varied selections for piano and voice majors and one or two selections for instrumental majors. Selections should demonstrate technique and expressive qualities.
Piano and Voice majors generally perform two of the three selections from memory. Instrumentalists may use printed music for their audition.
The audition may be scheduled by appointment during any campus visit or by videotape. Music majors are encouraged to apply for admission prior to auditioning.
Music scholarships vary in amounts and may be renewed each year of continued study as a music major. These scholarships are merit-based awards that are designed to enhance the University financial aid package. All music majors are encouraged to apply for music scholarships.
For additional information about music scholarships, please contact the music office.
